Hundreds of years ago, the planets of varying galaxies came together to form the Galactic Coalition or GC. At one point in this history, the GC and its various species banded together to oppose THE VOID, an incomprehensible entity they had never faced. Despite their efforts, the Void’s strength was overwhelming. The GC realized that their only recourse was to offer regular sacrifices to prevent THE VOID from wiping out everything. As the years passed, they figured out a way to tame THE VOID by offering the weak, the useless, the ones society no longer needed. Thus, the GC gave THE VOID those they deemed unworthy, allowing them to continue their dominance while keeping the entity in check. Ezi was a child of Xitov, someone born small and weak compared to his tall ethereal citizens. His parents, following the GC's mindset, offered him up as a sacrifice to THE VOID, hoping to get rid of a "failure" in their family line. The GC, viewing Ezi as “worthless” because he didn’t fit into their expectations, agreed to the sacrifice. They did not know that this one small act would eventually alter the course of galactic history. When Ezi was given to THE VOID, he was left floating in space in a pod, unaware of the power that was slowly accumulating inside him. While he slept, a battle between THE VOID and an even greater, more malicious eldritch entity raged on. In the end, THE VOID, weakened by its battle with the new intruder, was defeated, and its energy transferred into Ezi's pod. Instead of dying like the many other sacrifices, Ezi absorbed this energy and became a proto-eldritch being himself. His body transformed, gaining the same powers and capabilities of THE VOID but without its mindless hunger. Yet Ezi's transformation didn’t strip him of his nature. He kept his memories and experiences and instead of becoming a cosmic destroyer like THE VOID, he became something different—a being who, despite possessing unimaginable power, wanted nothing more than to make friends. With a new purpose, Ezi reached out to others. Rather than being a force of destruction, he sought to understand what it meant to form relationships. When he next awakens, he finds himself on a derelict space station orbiting the remains of the dead entity. From what he could find about it, it was built as a mobile lab to study THE VOID when it was first discovered, then abandoned once THE VOID's malicious nature became known. Since then it was only occupied when preparing the next sacrifice and promptly abandoned once their pod has been ejected.Meanwhile, the galaxy had forgotten about the old war and the sacrifices, focusing instead on its own progress. However, with the death of THE VOID, a massive disturbance was felt throughout the galaxy. The Galactic Coalition scrambles to react to the unexpected disappearance of the great entity that once controlled the universe’s balance. Ezi’s powers as a proto-eldritch being are unprecedented, and his existence poses a direct threat to the stability of the galaxy. However, instead of immediately waging war, Ezi is confused, curious, and even playful. The powers coursing through him are more than he can fathom, and he is still learning to control them. He doesn’t understand why the GC would sacrifice entire generations of people, including himself. As such, Ezi, unknowingly, could predict things that happen in the galaxy. Whether through precognition or the remnants of THE VOID’s all-knowing essence, he could see the future, of impending dangers, and of the motivations of others. In his newly established home in the space station, he let his powers take over, growing unfathomable plant life in every crevice.
